Drugs

I feel there are way too many drugs in our world today. For every ache and pain we are given a new prescription. You take one drug, and there is a side effect that you need to take to offset that.

I don’t believe in too many drugs, therefore, I’m not quick to take them. I usually look up and try natural alternatives.

I was cleaning out a cabinet this week, and I found and old prescription from 2004. I had no clue what it was so I went to the web to search. I asked for drugs starting with the letter B, and was shocked to find there were 1,419 drugs starting with B.

I was really amazed to think that is only ONE letter out of 26. I think it is time we all stop and question what we are being prescribed and learn the side effects and totally avoid drugs if possible.

That’s my 2 cents for what it’s worth.

Melanoma

Many people are not aware that Melanoma is very dangerous and comes from over exposure to the sun in your early years. A friend shared this vidoe with me from You tube, that is one I’d like to pass on to all teens and sun love.

Click to watch and share.

Please pass this on as it may save a life.

Halloween

Today is Halloween. I know there are tons of folks around that LOVE this holiday. They like getting dressed up and having scary parties. All the amusement parks have special events to pull in more money for themselves.

Unfortunately, I’m not a great fan of Halloween. I have never liked it. As of years past, many go to events instead of trick or treating, however, we still have to go out and buy a bunch of candy for those that do show up. Last year we had a total of 3 trick or treaters and I had bags of candy left.

I make it a point to try to buy stuff I don’t like so I’m not tempted to eat up the leftovers. After the holiday I have to track down kids to try to get rid of the candy.

I want to wish those of you that celebrate this holday, a Happy and Safe Halloween.

My Friend

I lost a wonderful friend today. We’ve been friends for more years than I can count.

We had a surprise call from her husband early this morning. It seems she passed away in the wee hours of the morning. I’m very sad about that. She was my friend all the way back from my school days. Please keep her family in your prayers.

I’m also just OUTRAGED about our horrible medical care in our country. It’s a shame that insurance companies dictate our care. My friend had surgery for her back, last January. The doctors pinched a nerve leaving her left leg and arm to not working properly.

Over the past 6 months they had her in and out of hospitals and rehab centers. She was in Intensive care 2 times, for blood clots and lungs. On June 29, after another month or so in rehab, the center told her she had to go home and made an excuse about her not doing the exercises. The next day they found out it was really because the insurance company said they were not paying any more.

So they had to rent an ambulance to bring her home. There was no way to get her in a car. She could not stand on her own, NOR get in and out of bed, so her husband and son have been taking care of her for the past month.

Yesterday she had a great day and visit with family. After they left, she was tired and wanted to go back to bed from the wheelchair. Her husband and son tried to help her stand and shuffle over to the lift but she couldn’t make it and they had to end up sitting her on the floor and calling 911.

The fireman came and got her back into bed. About midnight they said good night and she want to sleep. Her husband went to bed. He got up about 7:30 AM to find her dead.

I am sharing all this because I think our health care in the USA is absolutely the WORST and it’s time we as people stand up and not take this any more. The insurance companies are dictating your care, not the doctors.

She also was given tests at rehab that they took weeks to get to her doctor and had several infections that were left untreated. If you are on any MANAGED care plan, get off. Managed care means they decide your treatment and what they will allow and disallow. This is so wrong. Let’s take back control and let the doctors make those decisions.

Please help me spread the word. It really is a matter of life and death.

Apathy

I had an interesting call this afternoon from a very nice gentlemen.   Somehow he found my name, searching for direct sales people.    He told me he was looking for real “go getters”,  and I replied “Aren’t we all?”.  He indicated that most of those he talked to were very apathetic, and didn’t card to work.

This lead to a very interesting conversation about apathy, and how people seemed to have changed over the past 20-30 years.  .  I had to agree with him for the most part.   It’s sad but sometimes it seems that those that need things the most are willing to do the least.

This gentlemen said he’d hired dozens and dozens to do a simple task, yet only ONE took him up on it and did the task.  The others were just apathetic, or would start and not finish.   These were all people that needed money.

Why do you think people have become so apathetic?   I personally think that it’s because they have have given up on their dreams.   They may have been knocked down a few times, so they no longer care or have the will to get up and keep on moving foward.

It does not have to be that way.   It may take work and effort, but if you refuse to give up, you can turn things around.   I feel sad for those that really feel they can’t do something.  WHY NOT?  What’s stopping you?

Always remember, that NOTHING can stop you buy YOURSELF.   We ended the conversation, but I also felt sad for the gentlemen doing the calling.   He too sounded sad, and down.   It’s really not healthy at all to be so down.   IF you feel as this gentlemen did,  know that you can change that.

If you want a things to get better then It all starts with you.  MAKE IT HAPPEN.    Just do it!

If you know any woman currently undergoing chemotherapy, please pass the word to her that there is a cleaning service that provides FREE housecleaning – once per month for 4 months while she is in treatment.

All they have to do is sign up and have their doctor fax a note confirming the treatment. Cleaning for a Reason will have a participating maid service in their zip code area arrange for the service. This organization serves the entire USA and currently has 547 partners to help these women. It’s our job to pass the word and let them know that there are people out there that care.

Be a blessing to someone and pass this information along.
