Change

What do you think of the word change?    Whether you love or hate change, it’s enivitable.   Life changes, people change and the world changes.

If you want to succeed in anything, you have to be able to adapt to change.  You may work for a company that changes the way they do business.  You may end up laid off and have to adjust to looking for a job, only to find your job market dried up.   You may have to change and learn a new skill.

You may be in business for yourself.  The world may change and you either learn to change with it our you could be out of business fast.   Markets change all the time.

Think back a bit.  It wasn’t that long ago that we all had 33 and 45 records.  They progressed to albums, and then to tapes. Today they are CD’s,  but even CD’s are changing into dowloadable albums for your IPADs.

Car’s used to be simple. Today they have changed to where your cell phone comes in on your radio.  My new car has even an IPAD plug in it.    Times are changing and revolving.

If you learn to accept and embrace change, you will be happier and healthier.   Step out in front of the changes and think of new ideas, better thean the last and leade the way into the future.    If you don’t someone else will.

How To Get out of a Funk

Is there a time in your life where you really feel like NOT doing anything?   IF you’re building a business do you ever feel bogged down, bored, or just plain lazy?   If so what do you do to get out of that “FUNK”?  How do you motivate yourself?

I’ve found this happens to people all the time.  They just get sidetracked or let life get in the way.   What I’ve found myself,  is when I don’t feel like doing any thing,  I force myself to get busy doing something.  The more I make myself do something other than sit around,  the better I feel.

So if you’re in a funk,  just get up, and pick the one thing you don’t want to do most, and tackle it right then.   Try it.  It works.    You will accomplish more and get those dreaded tasks out of the way and actually feel good.

Hope to see you at the top?

Secret To Making Money In Your Business

Have you ever had anyone ask you what the secret is to making money in your business?

I get this question very often, and my answer is there is NOT any secret to making money in your business.. There is no difference between myself and anyone else, other than I’ve been in the industry a lot longer, probably had a ton more No’s. I also made the decision when I started to learn, that I would NEVER quit or give up.

This business is very SIMPLE. While it’s simple, and easy, sometimes people think there has to be MORE to it. There is NOT, it’s just a matter of treating it as a business and working it EVERY Day.

I have seen people that truly have a lot more potential and talent than I do, yet they are not doing well. They can’t figure out why, but when I ask them what they did the last week on their business, the answer is usually they “MEANT” to follow up with that prospect, or they had someone in mind to show the business to but they got distracted. They let life get in the way.

Maybe they had a good excuse, a sick family member, or they had to go to the store, or someone dropped by to visit and they didn’t get back to work. I’ve always said you can make money or excuses but NEVER both. You can excuse yourself right out of the business.

We all have the exact same 24 hours in a day. It’s how you chose to spend them that makes a difference in your business. If you have a full time “JOB”, and want to grow a business, you have to budget time to work your business even if it is just 1-2 hour a day. You have to treat it just like you would a JOB and show up. IF you showed up for work only when you felt like it, or didn’t have something better to do, you’d not have that job long. Why would it be any surprise if you are not consistent in working your business that it does not grow?

Duh.

There are several SIMPLE things you do to grow any business.

1. You share the story, show your product or service and tell others and ask for their business, either as a customer or a new team builder. You answer their questions and allow them time to make a decision, Yes or No.

2. You FOLLOW UP, FOLLOW UP, FOLLOW UP. The fortune is in the follow up.

3. You close the sale or rule them out and move on.

You then repeat steps 1 – 3. IF there is a secret in this all, is is simply CONSISTENT action. If you are not consistent, and you do not do steps 1-3, day in day out, you’re not going to get far.

Do you want to build a business? Do you want to be secure? Do you have a Plan B? Then simply get started, take daily action and NEVER quit. The fortune is in the FOLLOW UP.

Why Don’t More Succeed In MLM?

Do you ever wonder why more don’t succeed in MLM? Is it the product, or the opportunity? Is it them or the company that causes failure?

I used to try to figure it out, but found it to be a waste of my time and energy. I would LOVE to know why people spend hours, weeks and months investigating and checking out a business, join, and then totally drop off the face of the planet.

Has that ever happened to you? You spend a lot of time answering dozens of questions that a prospect has. They finally decide to give it a shot, sign in and are gone before the ink dries on the application.

I truly believe more don’t succeed because they are not really serious about making a living in the industry. They “think” they are, when they are checking it out, but once they join, they find they may have to share the idea with someone else. “HELLO”.

If you truly want to be successful, you HAVE to talk to people. If you get calls on voice mail or email telling you that you can get rich over night, without doing anything, and you believe them you have a screw loose. Put away your wallet, don’t buy in, and just stay where you are in life.

Don’t waste your time, unless you know what you want and are willing to go to work and make things happen. If you want to succeed in MLM you have to be willing to go to work, and plan to be in the SAME company, 2-3 years down the road. It takes total focus on your part to make it happen.

I love MLM. I believe in it and I make a good living in the industry. It took me many years to learn not to buy into everything that came my way that “sounded” good. I did my homework, and picked a company I thought had huge potential, and went to work. It’s not 7 years later and I’m in the same place and doing well.

If you are sick of your job, or want to build a side income to add security to your life, you CAN do it as long as you are focused and willing to work. I know If I can do it, so can you. Question is do YOU really truly want to succeed?

Sometimes people don’t realize it but they are more afraid of success than failure. What about you?

Do You Follow Up?

A month or so ago, I attended a home show. I was looking for several different things I wanted for my home. I was very interested in researching ventors with the items I was interested in.

I stopped, and talked to many vendors. I entered their “drawings” and put my information into their bowls and asked that they contact me. I was totally amazed at the lack of follow up.

Yes they sent me home with literature, and phone numbers, etc. They paid for brochures and marketing materials they were handing out in their booths. I took home items of interest and then I waited to see who followed up with me. I believe the fortune is in the follow up, and if I express an interest by stopping by their booth, the next move is theirs.

Out of the last show, with hundreds of booths, only TWO (2) vendors gave me a call, none emailed, and none sent me anything in the mail. This was a show that cost them several thousand dollars for a booth for 3 days.

It never ceases to amaze me when I see the lack of follow up. Why would anyone spend that kind of money and then not bother to follow up?

The 2 that did follow up with me, had 2 different products I wanted. I had them out to the house, and also researched their references and backgrounds. Since they took time to follow up I ended up buying from them.

From one I purchased a $900 item, and the 2nd placed a $4,000 order. There were still other things I’m interested in, however, I would never do business with anyone that didn’t follow up.

If you’re in business, you definitely need to follow up. The person that follows up is the one that gets the business.

How about you, do you follow up? If not, why not? You can pick up the phone and call someone or send direct mail following your event. If you don’t take time to follow up, someone serious about buying will buy from someone else.

I’m still in the market for a few more products, however, I refuse to do business with anyone that does not take time to follow up. I’ll keep on looking until I find people with enough sense to follow up.

The fortune is always in the follow up.

Are You Building A Business Or Playing?

I’ve heard many people say they are “working hard building a business”. I question at times by what they mean by working hard. I see them playing on facebook, or playing online games. If you’re building a business, always ask yourself, “Are you building a business or playing around?

If you’re building a business, you must be out marketing your product or service. You must be gathering new customers and following up to give good customer service. You must pay attention to your business and treat it as a business.

If you have a full time job, and plan on building a business on the side, you must commit to spending time working and growing that business. You must plan on putting in 1-2 hours or more a day, gathering new customers and sharing your business.

If you’re not getting any place, take a look at your own actions. What did you do this week to work on building your business. Be honest with yourself.

If what you’re doing is not getting you where you want to go, it’s time to take a look at your activities. Don’t kid yourself, or make excuses. I’ve always said you can make money or excuses, but never both.

Spend quality time on your business and over time you will be successful. If ONE person can succeed, then so can you if you are truly serious about making things work.

Retirement

Have you ever thought about retirement? You may be young but one day everyone reaches an age where they may want to retire.

When that time comes, will you have enough money to live on? Retirement is the time when many end up living on 50% less than they what they struggled to live on when they were working.

Have you given that time any thought? Today many people start to save money in 401K’s or other savings to save up for later in life. Unfortunately, many times these people borrow or take money out of their funds for a new home, or sending children to college. When they use the money, they end up paying a lot of extra taxes. They also find that they can’t afford to repay themselves so their savings go down.

What will you do in the future when you are retirement age? Do you have a Plan B?

Today it’s not enough to just have a JOB. Many that had good paying jobs, found they were replaced when their boss could get someone to do it for less. Jobs are no longer secure. You can’t depend on having job with benefits for your entire life.

Take charge and do something about it. Think about creating a business of your own that will build over time and pay you, so you can enjoy life, and also have extra to save for the “golden years”.

If you think you’re too young to think about retirement, think again. Those years will go very fast. Blink and 10 years rolls by. The older you get the faster time goes.

Start to make plans for what you will do when that time comes. It’s well worth thinking about and planning early.

What Does Success Mean To You?

Do you have control of your own life? What does Success mean to you? If you asked a hundred people you would most likely have 100 different answers. If you asked the same hundred what failure meant to them they would probably have almost the same answer. Failure is nothing more than the inability to achieve their goals, or not having set any goals.

What are your goals? Have you written them down? You can’t accomplish anything that you don’t know. Do you know where you’re headed.

Do you want to be successful? What would you consider success? Think about that. If you want to succeed at anything you have to take action. There are 3 things very important to do:

1. Know what you want and set a plan to get it.

2. Take action on your plan.

3. Analyze your actions and results. Learn to recognize what results you are getting from your actions. If they are not the results you want then analyze what you need to get the results you want.

Do these 3 steps until you achieve the success you want.
