Are You Serious About Building a business?

The people that succeed are those that stay FOCUSED and CONSISTENT. Those are the 2 key words. How committed are you? Are you serious about building a business?

It’s very easy to start a business or an mlm business, and it’s also easy to succeed IF you are consistent in what you do. Unfortunately, it’s also sometimes easier to do nothing. That will cause you to fail.

You have to commit to do something each day to grow your business and stay FOCUSED on it so you do not get distracted by every deal that comes your way. If you are always jumping into a new deal that “looks or sounds good” you will always be juggling and starting over. Pretty soon you’ll see others come along with less talent than you going right by you and you will be setting yourself up for failure.

How committed are YOU towards your business? What are you doing on a daily basis to grow it? That is the key, and without commitment, you’ll still be sitting at first base and not moving forward. If you have a full time job, and are building a business part time, then you must commit to doing SOMETHING each day. Work at least 30 minutes to 60 minutes per day or more putting in effort and focus on your business.

Take time to share. Look for ways to get the word out and build your business and you’ll be glad you did. You always get back but you send out. If you don’t spend time working on your business, you will not succeed. Treat your business as a business, and spend time working it, and over time you’ll build a good future.

Ask yourself, ” Are you serious about building a business?” If the answer is yes, don’t let anything or anyone hold you back from becoming a great success.

I have been studying QR codes for the past week or so, when I learned you could create them and use them for marketing. With all the smart phones around, it’s a neat way to get your meesage out to the end consumer.

As i noticed them more and more, I’m starting to scan them with my IPHONE to see what they say. I’ve also been noticing more and more online, as well as offline in magazines, and publications.

IF you take time to learn more about them, You’ll find it may be a great marketing tool for getting publicity, and building your business. As technology changes it seems advances such as there are gaining ground. Take time to study and learn more about them and You’ll be glad you did.

The Power of Using QR Codes with Promotional Products

So, what are QR codes? A “Quick Response” code, is a unique matrix barcode that can be read using your smart phone. QR codes, paired with the right promotional products, can result in a successful viral marketing campaign. Viral marketing is the result of a really unique, innovative, or funny advertisement that, due to its ability to stand out as exceptionally noteworthy, these advertisements spread like wildfire by word of mouth, sometimes to millions of people, exposing your brand and/or message to a huge number of prospects. Several YouTube videos have recently become successful viral marketing campaigns. QR Codes

I’ve been away for a week, seems like a month. Had a great time and learned a lot.

I guess I’ve been in the dark ages. This weekend I learned about a new technology (or not so new as some say) using QR codes. QR stands for Quick Response and looks like a funny square.

I just found a site that you can even generate your own QR codes. Here is a simple one I generated that bascially is my mlmblonde site;

Get More Referrals

It always amazes me and I wonder why most business people do not get more referrals. If they used their head and thought about the customer that is buying from them, they would know that the fortune made AFTER the sale.

I only give referrals to businesses that do a good job of staying in touch with me. By staying in touch, I don’t mean constantly be calling or emailing me things asking me to buy more, or asking me to give them referrals. I never give a referral to anyone that does not deserve it.

First off, I want to know that they care about me and are not just trying to get me to recommend them. I want to know they have good quality service and that they stay in touch. Two or three real cards or notes during the year, not asking for anything is the mark of a great company.

I paid cash for a car a little over a year ago. The salesman was very friendly and helpful. I shared with him that there were ways he could also keep in touch with me, and his other clients and get more referrals. After the sale, the only time we heard from him was to send sales ads. For a $40,000 car he didn’t even send me a thank you card. Needless to say, I won’t be referring him OR his dealership any more business. I’m presently in the market for another car I’ll be buying over the next year, but this time, I’m taking time to shop and check out the car dealerships follow up or lack of.

I purchased a water purification system about 2 months ago. I really like it but again I shared the simple message of how they could get more referrals. Now, 2 months later, all I heard from them was one call after the install to see if I had some friends to refer to them. I was appalled.

I think too many business people have lost that art of communication. I do NOT give any of them my email address, as I’m buried in junk mail and I don’t even open most of it. Of course if I bought they have my postal mail address and phone. If they call or send me mail, asking me to buy something else, or trying to get me back in, they go on my NEVER buy list. I also never refer them any business.
enjoyingIf they take time to follow up, at least with a real card (no logo and no sales pitch) and just say thank you, I pay attention. IF they then, send another card or 2 during the year, just to ask how I’m enjoying my new XXXXX, or send a birthday card without a sales message, I will be doing more business with them.

If they just learned the art of communication and caring, instead of slamming and selling they would definitely get more customers. Every few weeks there is a webinar online, on tips for getting more referrals and keeping more customers. If you’d like to learn that skill, tune in one week.

Ups And Downs

Growing a business is full of ups and downs.  One day you’re flying high and things are going great.  You’re excited and thrilled.

The next day,  you run into someone that tells you that you are nuts, or makes fun of you for even considering building a business.   Sometimes they are so negative, it gets you depressed and wondering if they are right.

Sometimes you don’t feel like doing anything.  The best thing do to when you don’t feel like doing any work, is to make yourself start doing something anyway.  Once you start,  you’ll feel a lot better and things will turn around.

Remember all people will have ups and downs.  That’s part of life.  There is no way to fail in growing your business, other than to quit.   Quitters never win and winners never quit.  It’s all your choice.

Internet Safety Alert

Here are some recent internet scam from the Internet Crime Complaint Center. Also, this week, several major retailers and other companies had their computers breached and e-mails and other personal information was obtained by the hackers. Please carefully review incoming e-mails and if you do not think they are legitimate, contact the company to confirm and of course, never reveal any personal or release any financial information without knowing who the sender is.

Scam Alerts
This report, which is based upon information from law enforcement and complaints submitted to the IC3, details recent cyber crime trends and new twists to previously-existing cyber scams.

AUTOMATED CLEARING HOUSE (ACH) SPAM
The IC3 and National Cyber-Forensics and Training Alliance (NCFTA) were made aware of a spam campaign around February 24, 2011 using spoofed e-mail addresses to make it look like they are from legitimate payment organizations. The message in the spam e-mail had variations of the following example:

“The ACH transaction, recently initiated from your checking account (by you or any other person), was cancelled by the Electronic Payments Association. Click on the link to view details.”

Electronic Payments Associations have frequently been used as a social engineering ploy by cyber criminals, according to open source information. Phishing alerts have been posted, and the organizations are aware that cyber criminals are using their name to deceive users into compromising their personally identifiable information.

According to analysis, this current use of the ACH organization is part of a new Zeus Botnet spam run intended to infect victims with malicious software. The links provided in the e-mails direct users to websites set up with HTML frame code to pull content from additional sources and deliver malware via JavaScript exploits.

The Zeus Botnet has historically been used by fraudsters perpetrating ACH fraud, so it is not surprising the ACH name is being exploited to direct users to websites propagating the Zeus malware.

LOTTERY SCAMMERS NOW MISUSING PUBLIC SERVICES
The IC3 has received several complaints from victims who reported receiving telephone calls from a Jamaican subject claiming they were lottery winners. The subject told victims to first wire funds for various expenses, such as taxes and other handling fees, to collect the lottery winnings. The subject threatened many victims with physical violence if they refused to wire money. The subjects were identified as Jamaican through their accents and verification of numbers displayed on the victim’s caller ID.

Though this scam is not new, the subjects continue to develop new methods to further their fraudulent scheme. For example, the IC3 received a complaint in which an elderly individual had fallen victim to the lottery scam. After the victim’s family interceded and stopped the liquidation of the victim’s funds, the subject sent a taxi cab to take the victim to a major retail establishment that offered wire transfer services, hoping the victim would wire the funds as requested.

In other instances, after elderly victims realized they were being defrauded and stopped participating in the lottery scam, the subjects asked local law enforcement to conduct a “well-being” check on the victims. However, during the courtesy checks, the victims told law enforcement about the lottery scams and avoided further victimization. Apparently, the fraudsters tried to use law enforcement to further coerce the victims into again communicating with, or sending funds to, the fraudsters.

POTASSIUM IODIDE PRICE GOUGING
In the wake of the recent disasters in Japan and the widespread fear of how radiation may impact health, the IC3 has received complaints related to potential price gouging of potassium iodide supplements. Potassium iodide is a salt of stable iodine that is an important chemical needed by the body to make thyroid hormones. Potassium iodide is normally absorbed through daily nutrition. Incapable of distinguishing iodine types, the thyroid readily absorbs both radioactive and stable iodine. Potassium iodide works by filling the thyroid with stable iodine so it cannot absorb any more iodine, including radioactive iodine, for 24 hours.

A variety of websites sell potassium iodide online, with the majority of the websites being vitamin retailers. Other websites are specifically dedicated to nuclear disaster preparation. Prices are generally under $10 for a bottle of pills or a vial of liquid potassium iodide. However, some prices are in the $20-$50 range, and a few sellers on an on-line marketplace are selling tablets in the $200-$300 range. Quantities and strength of the tablets or liquid vary, so not all prices are equivalent.

Potassium iodide can be found in prescription and over-the-counter formats. Although it is available over the counter, users should consult with a physician regarding dosage amounts and any potential drug interactions or side effects.
